What it does today
Rules by amount
Approval from an amount, a second approver above another, or a named approver, for claims, supplier bills or both.
Supplier bills always checked
A bill that’s imported, uploaded, emailed in or sent through the supplier link always needs approval.
No approving your own
You can’t approve your own claim while someone else can, and one person can’t approve both stages.
Cover while you’re away
Standing cover, or out-of-office cover with start and end dates, passes approvals to someone else.
Posted once approved
An expense posts to the ledger when it’s approved, and its trail keeps who submitted, asked, approved or rejected it.
Questions
Can an owner approve their own claim?
Not while anyone else in the workspace can approve it. If you’re the only approver, it approves itself and the trail says so.
Can an approver ask a question first?
Yes. The question and its answer stay on the record’s trail with the decision.
What happens when an approver is on holiday?
Set out-of-office cover with a start and end date, and their approvals go to the person covering.
Do purchase orders need approval?
Not today. Approval rules cover claims and supplier bills. A purchase order is raised by an owner or admin.
